Ring Hestia's Refuge Referral Line (London)

Call 0808 169 9975 or email us at [email protected], Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm.

This helpline is for women and children to find domestic abuse refuge spaces across London.

If you need a refuge space outside of London, please call the National Domestic Abuse helpline (above).  

Please note: The Referral Line is closed 25th December, 26th December and 1st January.


Ring the Freephone National Domestic Abuse Helpline

Call 0808 2000 247, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The helpline is run by Refuge and is answered by fully trained female support workers and volunteers who will answer your call in confidence.

  

Ring the National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV)

Make a referral: call 0207 186 8270 or call 0800 970 2070 (Press Option 1)

The NCDV provides free, fast and effective support to survivors of domestic abuse, usually by helping individuals obtain injunctions from their local county court. 

 

Ring Mankind Initiative's confidential helpline

Call 08088001170 freephone (will not show on your bills) and 01823334244 (helpline, for those with inclusive minutes) 

This helpline is for male victims of domestic abuse and domestic violence across the UK as well as their friends, family, neighbours, work colleagues and employers.

 

Ring Galop Helpline

Call 0800 999 5428 or email them at [email protected], Monday to Tuesday, 9:15am - 8pm, Wednesday to Friday, 9:15am - 4:30pm, closed on weekends.

The Galop Helpline is here to offer emotional support, guidance and help to explore what options may be available to anyone aged 18+ who is experiencing or has experienced violence and abuse.

 

Safe Spaces on the high street

UK SAYS NO MORE provides over 4,400 Safe Spaces in pharmacies and banks across the UK. Safe Spaces can be used by anyone experiencing domestic abuse to safely call a helpline, support service or friend.

Support for employers 

Hestia's Everyone's Business programme provides businesses with the information and resources they need to support staff who have experienced domestic abuse. 

Our Respond to Abuse Advice Line provides free and confidential guidance to employers on how they can respond to disclosures of domestic abuse. 

Modern Slavery

The Salvation Army’s Confidential Referral Helpline

Call The Salvation Army’s Confidential Referral helpline on 0300 3038 151. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This helpline is for those who feel they may be a victim of modern slavery or if you suspect someone might be a victim of modern slavery.

Modern Slavery Helpline

Call the Modern Slavery Helpline on 08000 121 700 to report a suspicion, get help or seek advice.

Please note that at present, only individuals referred into the National Referral Mechanism as potential victims of modern slavery can access our Hestia modern slavery support service. Please call one of the helplines above to discuss your case if you believe you are a potential victim entitled to support

Drop-in mental health crisis support 

Hestia’s mental health crisis services are open 365 days a year during evenings and weekends, and offer a space for adults struggling with their mental health to access support from trained professionals.
