Creating a safe and supportive workplace goes beyond policies - it’s about ensuring employees have access to the right help when they need it most. Hestia can partner with your organisation to provide specialist, confidential support for employees through our Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs) and Independent Sexual Violence Advocates (ISVAs).

Our dedicated team supports employees who are experiencing, or who have previously experienced, domestic abuse or sexual violence. This service is available to anyone, regardless of gender, role, or level of risk. It’s an innovative approach that ensures every member of your workforce has the opportunity to access expert help.

Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs)

IDVAs focus on the safety and wellbeing of employees who are at risk of serious harm from a current or former partner, or from family members. They provide practical and emotional support to help survivors and their children build safer futures.

“The IDVA service has helped me immensely, especially at the beginning when I did not know where to turn or what to do... The confidential advice gave me the courage to do the right thing. Things are now improving for both my son and myself. I will always appreciate the support.” – Survivor of domestic abuse

Independent Sexual Violence Advocates (ISVAs)

ISVAs provide free, confidential support to employees who have experienced rape or sexual assault, regardless of whether they have reported the incident to the police. Their role is to empower survivors to make informed decisions in a safe, non-judgmental space.

They can help employees:

  • Understand their rights
  • Navigate the criminal justice process (if they choose to report)
  • Rebuild confidence and control in their lives

“The support you have given me has been amazing… If it wasn’t for you, I would not have gone through this process to the end. Your passion and drive gave me the confidence I needed to proceed, and for this I cannot thank you enough.” – ISVA client

What workplace support could look like

An IDVA or ISVA can provide employees with:

  • Personalised safety planning
  • Advocacy with housing, banking, and children’s services
  • Guidance and support through the criminal justice system (where chosen)
