Respond to Abuse Advice Line: free support for employers

The Respond to Abuse Advice Line is a free and confidential service for UK employers who want to support employees affected by domestic abuse.

Our team of trained Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs) provide guidance, resources, and reassurance to employers, HR leads, managers, and other workplace representatives.

We can help you:

  • Recognise that home is not always safe
  • Use workplace resources to respond effectively
  • Connect employees to specialist domestic abuse services
  • Understand and complete risk assessments
  • Strengthen your organisation’s policies and procedures

You can contact us with any questions about employees who may be experiencing, witnessing, or perpetrating domestic abuse. We also advise on supporting children impacted by abuse.

Since the pandemic, remote and home-based work has become more common. For some, this means working in environments that are unsafe, making it harder for employers to notice signs of distress. The Advice Line is here to bridge that gap.
