Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) Hestia is committed to supporting everyone who works for the organisation to develop their professional skills, to achieve their full potential, to be the best version of themselves at work and to offer the best service to the adults and children at the heart of our work. Our Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) is a 12-month programme which is open to registered social workers who currently hold a position within Hestia. Completed within the first few years of qualifying, this programme helps to consolidate learning from the social work training and prepare individuals for their career as a social worker. Participation in the ASYE supports staff to build on their social work degree, develop their skills and strengthen their professional confidence in a supported environment, while being assessed against post-qualification standards. Why should I complete a Hestia ASYE? Develop your skills, knowledge and professional confidence during your first years of employment Gain a recognised qualification from Skills for Care Access to peer support through monthly group supervision Bi-monthly critical reflection action learning CPD support sessions three times a year Dedicated training session once a month (supported by the ASYE Assessor) 15 days of study leave A 10% reduction in caseload to allow time for study and reflection How can I apply? To apply for the ASYE, please get in contact with your line manager who will then reach out to the Therapeutic Services team. Useful things to know: At Hestia, the programme has a rolling start rather than a fixed starting date. You don’t need to be in a social work role to do the ASYE, but you do need to be recently qualified from your degree in social work. The ASYE offered at Hestia is the same as the Local Authority ASYE Hear what others have to say: “I have learnt so much about myself. My assessor was always available for any questions and worries that I had, she was approachable and thus made the work so much easier. I enjoyed completing my ASYE in the voluntary sector because I have been able to connect with the service users on a daily basis as I am working in their homes”. “The ASYE gave me an opportunity to receive regular supervision, work on a reduced caseload and helped to develop my capabilities and confidence. Additionally, it gave me more opportunities to reflect on my practice. I felt supported and was given ways in which I can better my own practice.” Manage Cookie Preferences
