Volunteer Courageous Award 2025

This award honours volunteers who have demonstrated courage; those who seek out opportunities and make the most of them. 

Congratulations to our shortlisted volunteers: Asli, Jason and Shifa Esa Al Ammodi. 

The Courageous Award winner is Shifa Esa Al Ammodi.

Shifa plays an integral role in the Together Network Team, bringing people together, listening to service users, and amplifying their voices, empowering individuals to develop and grow. 

During the Annual Satisfaction Survey period, Shifa conducted feedback calls in both Punjabi and Urdu, ensuring diverse voices were heard. She is a powerful speaker, inspiring others through her personal journey while remaining humble and crediting those who have supported her. 

Shifa attended both the Manager’s Day and International Women’s Day, showcasing Hestia’s work with domestic abuse survivors. At both events, she spoke with poise and conviction, sharing her experience as a Hestia service user and speaking from the heart. 

She supports our Be You project, delivering empowerment sessions for women living in domestic abuse refuges, and volunteers for Hestia’s Referral Line, supporting women experiencing domestic abuse in finding safety.
