Are you currently working with a therapist but have some employment related concerns which could do with specialist support? Perhaps you are experiencing some obstacles to remaining in work, or finding it hard to return to work after a period of sickness? Or perhaps you haven’t been in work for a while, but want to return, and would benefit from some one-to-one employment support?

Our Employment Advisors work closely with your NHS Talking Therapies team and directly assist therapists by providing specialist help to individuals with employment specific needs, therefore creating more space for the therapeutic work to progress.

 

Who is this service for?

• You’re 18 or over and receiving support from NHS Talking Therapists in Barnet, Hounslow, Harrow, Ealing, or Camden.

• You’re looking for specialist employment support to assist you on your recovery journey.

 

How does it work?

Our Employment Advisors will help you to ease your employment related concerns and maximise your time spent in therapy, helping to improve your mood, wellbeing, and progress, all accelerating your road to recovery.

Working with you and your therapist to produce an action plan, our Employment Advisors can support you with:

• Writing CVs and completing application forms

• Job searching strategies

• Interview and presentation skills

• Preparing for your first day back at work

• Light touch guidance and careers advice, especially if you’re considering your next step

• Considering education and/or training to further your career

• Liaising with your existing employer if you’ve been off sick or you’ve been struggling at work

• Securing reasonable adjustments for you at work

• Assisting you with benefits and debt, or signposting you to partner organisations for more detailed support

• Disclosing mental health challenges

You will find our Employment Advisors in NHS Talking Therapies provision in Ealing, Harrow and Hounslow, in partnership with Shaw Trust and SMART London. We also provide support for individuals receiving support from NHS Talking Therapies in Barnet.
