Accommodation-based mental health support Hestia provides accommodation-based support, including 24-hour care in some cases, for people who have experienced crisis, trauma or mental health challenges. When you move into one of our homes, you will be offered tailored support that focuses on you as a whole person. We aim to help you feel safe, develop hope for a better future, and to achieve your personal goals. This might include things like rebuilding relationships with family members and friends or connecting more with your local community. We will also work with you developing your independent living skills for the future, for instance cooking or money management. We believe in the importance of ‘Psychologically Informed Physical Environments’ (sometimes shortened to PIE or PIPE) which means that we do everything we can to design Hestia homes be calm, welcoming environments, which reduce stress and help people living with us to feel safe. Specialist support Some of our accommodation services also provide specialist support for those who are at risk of homelessness, have a history of substance use, or have more complex mental health needs. We can provide opportunities for education, training and volunteering – with the aim of building a bright and stable future. Young people We provide an Ofsted-registered Supported Accommodation service for young people aged 16-25 who are leaving care, looked after children, homeless or at risk of being made homeless. We aim to empower young people to recognise their potential, follow their aspirations, and take confident steps toward independence. Here are a couple of highlights from our accommodation-based mental health services: Hestia's Dame Gertrude Young House marks 40 years of service For four decades, the service has provided temporary accommodation while supporting residents with their transition back into independent living.
