By volunteering with us, you will help to support adults and children in crisis across London. Your enthusiasm can make a big difference to those who are most in need. You’ll be able to:

  • Help adults and children in crisis
  • Meet new people
  • Learn new skills
  • Gain valuable work experience
  • Give back and do something rewarding
  • Have fun

“Volunteering at Hestia is like a big family, we all look after each other," Melissa, Volunteer Gardener.

What you can do

There are many different volunteering roles available. If there is something specific you want to do, we can create a role that suits your skills and abilities. Existing roles include:

  • Teaching art therapy, gardening, yoga, IT or cooking
  • Peer support and facilitating group sessions
  • Befriending and mentoring
  • Head office based roles in various departments
"I have never been showered with so much appreciation, despite having volunteered over several years for many different organisations. First it was a call from my supervisor, then a text, a card, an email, an award, then another card! Not to mention the celebratory lunches, the learning and training opportunities and, above all, your kindness as individuals." - Clara, a volunteer for Hestia's Refuge Referral Line.

Benefits

As a volunteer for Hestia you qualify for Hestia Benefits. It’s our way of saying thank you for the amazing work you do. Rewards include:

  • Reimbursed travel and up to £5 per day for lunch
  • An invitation to our volunteering awards and celebration events
  • References for job applications
  • Access to Hestia's Learning and Development programme
